A variety of tests using a standard Colt AR-15
Semi-Automatic rifle with iron sights in .223 Caliber fired from a bench
using bags only; no sled. We were very impressed with a ten shot grouping
fired at 100 yards using Clean Ballistics coating process. The grouping was
over an inch tighter versus the uncoated grouping. On rapid fire using a
large capacity clip, we fired 30 rounds uncoated, cleaned the gun and fired
30 rounds coated. The coated 30 round, rapid fire groupings was much less
erratic. The barrel was warm to the touch using coated bullets and "hand
burning" hot using uncoated bullets. The coated bullets produced very little
leading in the barrel and residue in the action. The action wiped clean with
a single wipe. Groove fouling was far less with the coated bullets. The
difference could be seen with the naked eye using a simple bore light.
Cleaning both the action and the barrel was very easy following all of our
tests using the coated bullets.
Using basic testing equipment we observed the following when using the
coated product from Clean Ballistics:
- Grouping performance was much better.
- Velocity was increased.
- There was much less heat buildup in the action and barrel.
- Barrel and action fouling was minimal.
- Cleaning the gun was much easier.
